Tug of War

(Apologies to Johnny at Granola Shotgun)

The struggle for renewal along the region’s oldest stroad is visible. These photos go in order as you cross the Memorial Bridge heading toward The Big E fairgrounds:

Crappy disintegrating asphalt sidewalk until…¡Chipotle!

What’s a “build to line” again?

Someone call Shel Silverstein:

They razed a nice old church for this; I wonder if anything other than the stupid bank which financed it will ever occupy this strip mall? Never be behind the times when you can be *way* behind the times!

“IN LOCO ISTO DABO CVS”

This last one is my favorite: the old “Papa Gino’s”, turned “Debbie Wong” now vacant just before the old “Ponderosa” turned “Outback” now a drug rehab center flanked by tire and lube joints and self storage canyons.
