City Beautiful

The citizens of Springfield took inspiration from the City Beautiful Movement and built at least three structures worthy of that movement which are still used nearly every day and by most residents of the City of Firsts.

The central branch of the city’s public library system.

The Municipal Group: City Hall, Symphony Hall, and the Campanile.

And while it may not have been constructed before WW I, to me the spirit of City Beautiful is also seen in…

The Memorial Bridge.
