A Little Light Writing

Life turns inward as the weather gets colder, and the built environment takes on a greater significance. If you’ve ever experienced the transition from a frigid wind beating on your face to the embrace of a warm indoor space then you’ll know what these places can mean as the ground freezes underfoot. The combination of legacy auditoriums, repurposed halls, modern arena space, and black box theaters gives my neighborhood an abundance of indoor space with the expanse necessary to keep Winter from feeling as though it’s closing in on you. Even better, I’ve attended so many events at all of these venues that I couldn’t imagine trying to list them all, and that includes the “always in need of renovation” Paramount!

Symphony Hall

Mass Mutual Center

CityStage

Robyn Newhouse Hall

The Paramount

The Basketball Hall of Fame

The Sheraton

The Old 1st Church

Then there are those places I’ve been to only a handful of times, or not at all.

The Commerce High School Auditorium
